I have to admit I really thought this was going to be a lot harder. It has gone really well so far, and it's only day 2. I was really busy this morning doing more laundry and getting some stuff done upstairs while Lexi & Amber were sleeping downstairs, and I didn't want to disturb them, so I made my coffee & hung out upstairs.
At 1, I came down stairs, dressed & ready to go out but I sat & ate a salad with Balsamic vinegar, not the vinegarette either, straight up Balsamic vinegar. It's a little bitter but I handled it.
I hard boiled some eggs for breakfast this week. I will make my salad for work in a little while.
Tonight was my first going out to dinner challenge. Before I left the house, I looked at the menu. I knew I would have a salad with the house italian dressing, and then I ordered Steak Tuscano with roasted potatoes! OMG, can you say FABULOUS!!! I didn't have any bread sticks or crutons. I LOVE the Olive Garden Bread sticks & their crutons! But I didn't even have a bite.
I must say, I ate very slowly and enjoyed every bite! I didn't even want a bread stick. It's probably because I am new to this regimine, and really needed to prove to myself that I could do this. Lexi was playing around teasing me & saying, Mom, THIS BREAD IS YUMMY, and I said Nope, not having a bite. When dessert time came, I didn't order anything. I let the kids order. Again, Lexi said Mom, would you like a bite? I know she felt bad that she was eating cake and I was not having anything, but I honestly didn't feel bad at all. I discovered that if I took my time eating & chewed slowly, I got fuller quicker, not really sure why? I guess because typically I don't think about what I am eating. I just order & drink
You see, I am the "PASTA QUEEN" I love any pasta, red sauce, alfredo sauce, chicken parm. bread & all that stuff. I didn't get where I am today because I don't have a love for food! Italian food is my absolute favorite cuisine.
Well here's too surviving day 2!
Now on to day 3....
Let's see what going back to work & dealing with all kinds of stress & foods does for my day! Oh & Lexi's birthday is tomorrow. Family over for ice cream cake and cheese cake. I'll be passing on it, not because I have too, but because I want too. I need to work exercise into my daily routine too. I have the WII fit, so I"ll be starting on that on Wednesday!
